This is the ship we’ve been waiting for. The new upcoming Bandai 1/72 Millenium Falcon from Episode IV ‘A New Hope’. This will go so nice with other previous models from Bandai from the OT. The The Y-Wing Starfighter, X-Wing and even the Red Squadron X-Wing Starfighter from Star Wars Rogue One.
Doesn’t seem like the subtitles on the promo video are enough to express the excitement of the folks over at Bandai. This is not an up-scaled version of their widely popular 1/144 Millenium Falcon from The Force Awakens. This Millenium Falcon model is based -judging by the pictures- on the 5 footer filming miniature featured in Star Wars Episode IV ‘A New Hope’. It is clearly visible under the front mandibles that the extra landing gear boxes added during production of Episode V and VI are missing.
The kit is not even out and I dare to predict that a Star Wars Episode V and VI will be eventually released as the tooling won’t require much to make it happen. Don’t know about you my dear readers, but this is a very exciting announcement.
