Day Fighter Aces of the Luftwaffe 1939-1942 by Neil Page

Cover for Day Fighter Aces of the Luftwaffe 1939-1942

Casemate Illustrated, under their Men|Battles|Weapons series, offers softcover books designed for historians and modelers. A feature of the softcover that I appreciate and the folded over edges of the cover which serve as bookmarks when placing the book down. They are 128 pages printed on high quality paper to ensure excellent reproduction of photographs and artwork.

This particular volume, by Neil Page, covers Luftwaffe Fighter Aces on all fronts during the start in 1939 until 1942. One hundred eighty-five photographs, of which ten are in color, illustrate the thirteen chapters (not counting the Glossary, Bibliography, and Index) which are conveniently color coded. I do suggest that Casemate use the color coding in the Table of Contents as it will make it easier to find the chapters. Interspersed within the chapters are three pages, each with three color side view profiles.

I have been building models for most of my life. Suffering from terminal AMS, I have not been able to build OOB until my son's birth and his room's ceiling seemed empty.
