Hello to all our Model Kits Review friends.

Bandai SHINKAI 6500 Manned Research Submersible.

I hope this post finds all our fellow plastic model kit builders fine. As you have noticed, the website hasn’t been updated in quite some time. This site is the labor of love of yours truly, my always supportive and lovely wife, and the work of a few dedicated and well-accomplished model kit builders and collaborators.

At the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, I got involved in a little over a year’s worth of commission work from several clients. Some model kits were simple out-of-the-box builds, others were out-of-production sci-fi model kits, and others were quite specific and more elaborated requests for aircraft model kits. Over a year since I started with those commissions, I was still packing and mailing built models which is a chore in its own right to secure a safe arrival to the clients model. In the end, I finished burnt out. So I decided to take a sabbatical from model building. That along with some health issues made me take some time away from my building bench.

This website has remained as a ”database” or reference for many plastic model kit enthusiasts, especially newcomers. If I was going to close the website, I would have done it a long time ago, But hosting has been paid all this time non-stop. Our Partners still have their banners on the site, as a token of appreciation for their support.

If you’d like to donate a couple of dollars for our web hosting expenses, a DONATE button has been placed on the right hand of your screen. It is not an obligation. But if you feel like it, there it is. Any amount can help!

I have seen many articles and reviews of plastic model kits and other building accessories on Facebook. Unfortunately, most of these groups are set to ‘Private‘, thus limiting great info (and pictures) to members of that particular group only. If you would like to share your work with the internet in general, feel free to send in your reviews with pictures to info@modelkitsreview.com.
They will be here for posterity and the benefit of many other model kit builders will thank you.
