Casemate Illustrated, under their Men|Battles|Weapons series, offers softcover books designed for historians and modelers. A feature of the softcover that I appreciate and the folded over edges of the cover which serve as bookmarks when placing the book down. They are 128 pages printed on high quality paper to ensure excellent reproduction of photographs and artwork.

This particular volume, by Neil Page, covers Luftwaffe Fighter Aces on all fronts from 1943 until the end in 1945. One hundred eighty-seven photographs, of which three are in color, illustrate the twelve chapters (not counting the Glossary, Bibliography, and Index) which are conveniently color coded. I do suggest that Casemate use the color coding in the Table of Contents as it will make it easier to find the chapters. Interspersed within the chapters are three pages, each with three color side view profiles.
