The Rolls-Royce Armoured Car was a British armoured car developed in 1914 and used during the First World War, Irish Civil War, the inter-war period in Imperial Air Control in Transjordan, Israel and Mesopotamia, and in the early stages of the Second World War in the Middle East and North Africa.”
The kit is fairly simple and allows you to make the early armoured cars used during WWI all the way up to the one used in the Dessert in 1942. You get a PE fret with the wire wheels and plastic tires as well as the heavier plastic hubs with rubber tyres. 4 sprues with “C” being doubled. The turret sides are one piece ans is the body. This looks like a nice quick simple build with a ton of possibilities. The glass pieces are wrapped in plastic and then in a baggy.
There are 4 poly caps so the wheels can turn as you go brum brum across the desk imagining you were there….everyone does that right????? There are some sink marks but I think they should be easy enough to clean up. Unfortunately, the colour guide does not tell you the units of the vehicles and is kind of general in their description. I’m thinking maybe the cammed WWI version might be Dutch but I have to look more.
The WWII schemes are nice with a Caunter version and a version in sand with the huge roundel on the turret top. If you can find the info I think the kit could be converted to the open top turret with a Boyes gun and .303 but you would need to scratch the interior. The box top has a very nice Caunter schemed armoured car in action.
