Revell 1/72 German Figures Kit # 02525

When I started to build Revell’s 1/72 Wolf Pack German U Boat, I wanted to add some dynamism and populate the kit with some German 1/72 Figures. Having built the USS Cobia 1/72 Revell Gato Class before, I was limited to 1/72 resin figures from CMK. Well cast and detailed for the scale, but a bit expensive to populate an already expensive kit. Since we are in the states and this is from Revell Germany, little I knew about kit # 02525 to dress my then work in progress 1/72 Wolf Pack U Boat.

There is no comparison in casting quality between CMK and the injection model set from Revell, but it is not that bad either. You get 51 figures -pictured- in an assortment of crew and German officials. No instructions are needed, the 51 1/72 figures come in a soft and flexible dark blue sprue.

Colors are printed on the box calling for Revell colors. They are very clean with no shows of flash at all. The only downside (my personal preference) is their molded color. In my opinion, they would be better to work with if molded in light gray.

Although this set has been specifically made for the VIIC kit # 05015 and the Speed Boat S-100, kit # 05051, it is also suitable for any other 1/72 German ships of the period. Overall, I give this kit a 4.5 out of 5 in quality and value. Unless you look at your 1/72 figures with a magnifying glass, this kit comes with 51 figures for the price of 2-3 from CMK.
