New additions from Green Strawberry

My good friends in the Czech Republic from Green Strawberry sent us in various samples of their latest releases. As I have stated here before and thru other various outlets, this is a very humble company that delivers high quality products. For someone like yours truly who will observe and appreciate the bag or wrapping paper you chose for my present, Green Strawberry makes me stop and observe their packaging before getting the content of it out.

Their instructions are well illustrated. In many cases they might have a test shot of the model with their product as reference on their website. Now lets cut to the chase shall we?

Green Strawberry Detail Set for Zvezda / Revell 1/2700 Star Destroyer Photo etch set 03517

This detail set is very comprehensive. It does include the trash chute for the Star Destroyer. If you want more detail on your Revell Star Destroyer, Green Strawberry has you covered with this set. There’s extra detail for the deflector shields area as well as the ”balcony” which I had to improvise on mine. No regerts there but this look definitely better than my interpretation.

Another vast improvement over the engine bells included with the kit. The cast is very clean and sharp. It almost look like 3D renderings in person. Be careful with the outer ring. By nature is very delicate, so you must exercise great care while cutting the extra resin retainer. No matter which version of the Star Destroyer you want to build, Green Strawberry provides a small photo etched fret with the engine bell vanes.

No question, this is a nice upgrade for your Revell Star Destroyer project.

Green Strawberry Detail Set for Zvezda / Revell 1/2700 Star Destroyer Lighting Kit FX-01.

Last but not least and with a heavy heart I will present you this lighting kit for the Revell or Zvezda Star Destroyer. This sample departed its origin and by the time it arrived to our office, we were informed that it won’t be available until further notice. I hate to be the bearer of the bad news but if you excuse me I’m not allowed to give further details. The set runs with an input of 7 to 18 volts. It is well designed. Simple and straightforward I could subtitle this kit;
THE REVELL LIGHTNING SET FOR DUMMIES.

It comes with a .02 drill as a compliment for you to start the project, but we all know that you will need more bits than that. There are 9 bundles of 120 strands of .25 fiber optic for a total of 1,080. I love the simplicity of this set. Especially for incapacitated model builders like me. It makes lighting this model a breeze.

Lets all cross our fingers and hold our breath until Green Strawberry make this set available for the general public again. I know they can do it. We will follow closely the availability of it and will immediately edit this entry and notify our followers on social media.

  1. Good luck getting those engine bell rings off of the substrate. I broke all three by carefully removing two with a nibbler and one by painstakingly sanding the substrata off of them only to be told by Greenstrawberry that I need to be careful removing them. Now I have a $45 set of parts I cant use.

    1. I’m sorry to hear about your experience Ed. So far I never had any negative experiences with their resin. What I usually do with Green Strawberry or any other product brand, is to cut with a fine tooth hobby saw and remove the remaining leftover with wet sandpaper (220/320).

      I use the same technique with 3D printed parts because they are usually more brittle than resin.
