New 1/35th Scale Products from RMG of Portugal

RMG of Portugal has a really nice line of diorama products available and best of all, they listen to their customers. They are best known for their tow cables, like the IS-2 set shown above which I reviewed elsewhere.

When informed of the proper name for the vehicle, they responded that they changed the packaging to reflect it! That is a company to look out for in the future.

While on Facebook, I ended up writing to the customer about trash bags and incredibly the company followed with several releases. While there is a clear set, I have the one which includes two sets of bags in green and black.

Instead of providing some resin block to insert into the plastic material as trash, they included three nicely printed sheets with cartons for the modeler to cut out and glue together. See review elsewhere as the printed items were too nice to damage so I found the perfect item to place inside them.

Far more humorous to me is the toilet. This seems to be a European model as I don’t see the handle to flush but the funny part is that it includes pre-bent wire for the modeler to make the lids functioning (once they find the correctly sized drill bit). I’ve placed an order for the drill bit closest to the 0.3mm size which is the number 79 wire gage. The review will wait until then.

Perhaps working for their experience with the pre-bent toilet hardware, another release is unique and welcome. These are prebent wire retainer clips! While I had been doing them by hand, using a jig, since I was never satisfied with the photo-etched offerings, this blows my work away! My thanks to RMG for these releases and Jess Santos for listening to an old modeler’s wishes.

I have been building models for most of my life. Suffering from terminal AMS, I have not been able to build OOB until my son's birth and his room's ceiling seemed empty.

  1. Well, if I want to make a 1/35 scale replica of my bathroom, here’s a start. This has to be one of the goofiest things ever kitted.
