Monogram C-47 Skytrain Plastic Model Kit

An aluminum tube 63ft. long; unheated, unpressurized, unarmored, unarmed and carrying 32 men to war through flak and fighter fire. Gooney Birds, the C-47 Skytrain, were the workhorses and warhorses of the Allies throughout WWII. They carried paratroopers into combat, brought supplies to embattled soldiers and, at the end of the war, carried them home. No model collection is complete without at least one model of the humble yet mighty C-47 Skytrain.

Monogram 1/48 C-47 Skytrain

Presenting the new Monogram C-47 Skytrain in 1/48th scale. Save some room or get a hook on the ceiling ready folks because this bird is big. The Monogram C-47 does include 9 paratroopers and 3 familiar faces as a crew most likely to be found on the B-24 Liberator from Revell. Something that struck my attention immediately was how clean all the sprues and parts in general are.

Revell seems to have properly adjusted the molds and the result is a kit with little to no flash or mold lines all around. Evident of this is most notable on all the 9 provided paratroopers. By the way, all parachutes are molded separately from the paratroopers. So in case you want to accurize and build your parachutes from scratch, this will make it a lot easier. Decals provided with the C-47 Skytrain has markings for 2 different aircraft:
