Mini Art 1/35 German Tank Crew Figures 35003

A few weeks ago and after years of procrastination, I unveiled here on this website the not so new German NBFZ (TYPE â… ) Kit 05527 from Trumpeter Models. As I mentioned in the aforementioned entry, a set of figures was going to be built on to populate the German NBFZ. For that, I chose from my stash of 1/35 German figures the MiniArt German Tank Crew Kit # 35003.

I know that resin figures are over the quality of injected styrene counterparts. But not always we modelers have the luxury of (especially newcomers.) to go the resin route. I have always been big a fan of MiniArt in general, especially when it comes to their 1/35 styrene figures and a very deserved mention goes to Master Box. It is my understanding that this set of 1/35 scale figures comes from a brand new tooling.

MiniArt – Kit Nr. 35003 – 1/35 GERMAN TANK CREW

After opening the box which consists of one sprue molded in grey, I encountered the 35 parts that comprise the 5 figures on the set with abundant mould lines and flash as seen on the pictures. There is always cleaning to do with 1/35 scale styrene, that’s to be expected. But the work needed on these caught me off-base. Admittedly, the figures have very good sculptures consistent with other 1/35 figures from Mini Art.

I want to believe that this has more to do with some misalignment on the molds at the factory and not the general rule of this kit. I did purchase this kit in my local hobby shop. I should have known better, I tend to open my figures on the spot for inspection and this was an exception. It was too long ago to go back for an exchange. If any of our readers out there have encountered a similar experience with this kit, please do let us know in the comments section below.

NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR
At the time of this entry, the 1/35 MiniArt German Tank Crew Figures 35003 are currently out of production according to the official MiniArt website.
Recommended, but there may be some extra cleaning to do.
