Hasegawa 1/24 Pkw.K1 Kübelwagen Type 82 “Claire Frost” Kit No. 52160

The Egg Plane Girls really know their transportation! The Kübelwagen is an all-terrain icon made infamous by the Germans during WWII. It followed German advances through Poland, France, North Africa, and into Russia. It followed the withdrawals, too. Its reliability was greater than that of virtually every other vehicle available to the Wehrmacht. By war’s end, over 50,000 had been produced and many destroyed. Kit features two sets of decals and Claire Frost figure.

Another beautiful kit from Hasegawa following the Anime model kit series. This is the time for a Pkw.K1 KÜBELWAGEN TYPE 82 from the ”Wild Egg Girls kit No. SP360. It is no secret that this is a re-purposed kit from Hasegawa. You can find plenty of 1/24 WW2 German accessories including a so-so figure (for its scale) within this kit. The KÜBELWAGEN can be assembled with the top on or off. Parts to depict either version one are provided. The resin Wild Egg Girl figurine needs some cleaning and most important, a nice foundation for your paint. I noticed that Vallejo skin colors and others in general won’t stick too well without priming these figures, so you have been warned.

A beautiful detailed engine is also included.

One might think that this kit being in 1/24 scale might come as a curbside model. Actually it does include a detailed air-cooled flat-4, 985 cc (23.5 bhp (17.5 kW) / 1,131 cc (25 bhp (19 kW) engine. Adding wires and other details is up to the super detail oriented modeler. The base engine is there and very good out-of-the-box in my honest opinion.

This is not the average Kubelwagen for the 1/35 scale modeler much less suited for dioramas. But if you want a larger representation of the legendary vehicle, this one will go next to your 1/24 1/25 scale auto collection or you can also make it the center piece of your WW-2 German kits collection. It will sure pop out from your 1/35 shelf.

Color Used to paint this kit:

  • Mission Models US
  • MMP-016 Sandgrau
  • MMP-040 Tire Black
  • MMP-047 Flat Black

  • MMP-032 Russian Green Modern

Highly Recommended!
