We are not taking new commision work at this moment. Due to the global pandemic and state madates, we have fallen behind in serveral builds. In some cases we haven’t been able to find certain materials used in the shop for some commisioned builds. We were closed as mandated by the state of Minnesota which set us back almost 2 months and now with a second shut-down looming in the horizon.
We sincerely hope your understanding in this matter and look forward to helping you get that beautiful model kit you’d like in the not so distant future.

Before you continue reading, please know that commission builds are only made for the United States residents only. Including Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
For a long time, we have received emails and personal requests to build plastic model kits for private collections. I believe that the idea came up right after launching the Model Kits Review website. Not too long ago we posted an entry for the
1/12 scale BB-8 and R2-D2 from Bandai Models. It was commissioned by our local hobby shop.

Upon request a long time ago I did build the 1/700 Colombo Express from Revell of Germany. It was built for a Happag Lloyd salesman in the Minneapolis office. Many other plastic kits that have been featured on this website have been built as commissions.
So if you are interested in having a model kit built but lack the skills, knowledge and/or the proper tools to do it, here when I will come to help you.
With the exception of figures, i.e. Super Heroes, Marvel DC Comics etc.
I will provide the service of building your favorite WW-I, WW-II, Cold War, modern aircraft, battle tank, submarine, autos and everything in between.

Would you like a model kit from your favorite Sci-Fi franchise but don’t own paint and weathering supplies, to begin with?
I will gladly build that Bandai Millenium Falcon, Tie Fighter and X-Wing Fighter. Lighted or without lights.
Also build WW-1, WW-2, Cold War and modern aircraft as well as naval subjects. However, due to the fragility or the rigging, no rigging will be added to *any* of our built model kits.
HOW MUCH?
Prices will vary, we won’t charge for the time that we didn’t work like for example, waiting for paint to dry to proceed to the next step. Usually, we charge between 3 to 4 times the cost of the model depending on the complexity of the particular subject and brand. A wash will be added to all models unless the customer says otherwise. Heavy weathering sometimes is as time-consuming as building the model itself. Extra charges may apply for extra weathering. Since this is a subjective matter in the model building community, it is best to consult your preference beforehand via email.
The model kit will be purchased locally unless is a model that you already have. In that case, the customer is responsible for the safe shipping of the model to our office.
