Academy Releases New 1/700 Missouri BB-63-Modeler’s Edition
Edison, New Jersey- Academy has announced the introduction of a new kit, (14223) 1/700 USS Missouri BB-63-Modeler’s Edition. This Iowa-class battleship will long be remembered as the site of Japan’s surrender to end WWII. “Mighty Mo” was considered the most powerful battleship of its time.
Loaded with details, Academy has captured it in all its glory. It can be assembled either as a waterline model or with full hull. It features photo-etched parts for railings and radar which add realism and highlights to the finished model. Armament includes nine 16” guns and twenty 5” guns, as well as three 16” and ten 5” rotatable turrets.
There are also 20mm and 40mm anti-aircraft guns that can be assembled in the modelers choice of direction. The kit is complete with display stand. Deck masking seal and an easy-to-follow painting guide come with the kit.
