Straight from their UPTOWN Series, here is Revell’s 1/25 Dodge Charger SRT8. After building many aircraft and armor model kits, here is a kit that took me back to my pre teen years when I used to build MPC and Monogram kits. The kit is molded in white and has chrome to make an 18 wheeler owner happy. There is a plethora of chromed audio accessories for the interior. These, although nice, would only make the kit (IMHO) look a little bit ”toyish”. So for a more realistic look, it would be better to remove all that chrome off the parts. These parts are optional and can be used on another kit should you decide no to use them.
The kit falls together very easy, no troublesome parts to deal with that I should point out. It was built straight from the box with some felt to simulate a real carpet. The hardest thing for me after so many years was choosing a color. The model kit is presented in Silver on the box but I went for a high contrast color instead. It was a good opportunity to try out the new Testors One Coat Lacquer 1831 Fiery Orange.
These colors are amazing, way better than the enamel Testors spray paints that I used to use back in the day. There are tow choices of decals with the kit and these were sealed also with One Coat 1834M Wet Look Clear. Again, way better than Testors Gloss Cote. Being lacquers, there is a small chance for the paint to run off because these paints dry in minutes.
I highly recommend this model kit. At $13 with a 50% off coupon from Michaels, you can’t go wrong. Enjoy the pictures!
what color paint did u use
Hello Zach, I used Testors One Coat Lacquer 1831 Fiery Orange. Yo can get it at your local hobby shop. If you don’t have one close to you, chances are that you have a Michaels store near you. You can find it at Michaels ;o)
The only tricky side with these metallic colors from Testors, is that you have to paint all body parts together. If you don’t and paint them separate, chances are that you’ll end up with minor but notable color shifts.
No biggie, just tape from the inside the hood and trunk lid to the model’s body and that will do it. Once the paint is dry, you can remove the tape and the parts will be free and in one uniform color.
