The month of December has been very hectic in the shop and studio working other models as we speak. Remember, this is an E-zine and content flows slower. We barely post WIP’s due to time restrictions. However we tend to post some behind the scenes and other topics on our Facebook page. Having said that, I wanted this particular entry to be posted on the website for posterity instead of on our FB page where it will be lost in the news feed within a week.
Now that I have your attention, we are pleased to present you the following 3D Printed figures from our good friend at Falcon 3D Productions. These figures are in 1/29 scale, perfect for your Revell 1/29 Snap-Tite X-Wing Fighter.
Falcon 3D’s own Konstantin and Gus are constantly adding and improving their catalog. Suggestion, bookmark their page because you will never know what upgrade for your project will be available at any moments notice.
As with the 3D Printed Hangar for the 1/2700 Revell / Zvezda, the quality and resolution from these figures provided below is absolutely amazing. At first glance they almost look like resin figures instead of 3D printed. All the details on the pilots uniforms and chest plates are present. It is not hard to notice that 3D Falcon is doing their homework. These Star Wars figures are 1/29, but they are also available in 1/24 for the studio scale X-Wing and Y-Wing builders.
The R2-D2 figures are printed in 2 parts and after lightly wet sanding them, the 2 halves joined together using CA glue without a problem. Be careful joining them. Use the CA sparingly from the inside. The R2-D2 & R5-D4 are meant to have straight pose even though they can be left unglued to articulate the legs. Both domes (R2 & R5) will fit like a glove on the top of the droids ”drum”.
What I wish?
These are static figures to be used either on the X-Wing droid socket or next to your proudly built X-Wing. I wish I could see an R2 and R5 with a 3rd leg option. How about an R4? Could it be a reality? Trust me, don’t tease this guys. They are really open to suggestions and positive criticism. I can not speak for them 100% but I wouldn’t be surprised if they work along with your particular Star Wars project.
