ITALERI PLASTIC MODEL KITS Now Distributed By Hobbico®

Hobbico is proud to announce that it is now the exclusive distributor for Italeri plastic model kits in the U.S. and Canada.

Hobbyists who turn to Italeri kits for quality, variety, scale accuracy and easy assembly will now find them available from many retailers in Hobbico’s wide distribution network. Headquartered near Bologna, Italy, Italeri was founded in 1962 by Gian Pietro Parmeggiani and Giuliana Malservisi — two men who decided to turn their boyhood love of airplanes and military vehicles into a business. Their own model-building experiences taught them the importance of having the most historically correct markings, colors and other details. Italeri released its first scale model plane in 1968 under the company’s original name, Alistamp. The subject was a 1/72 scale Fiat G.55 Italian WWII fighter.

Today, Italeri’s catalog includes aircraft, helicopters, vehicles, ships, tanks, tools, diorama accessories, and intricate 1/35 scale wargame miniatures. In 2008, Italeri released a 1/35 scale Schnellboot S100 German torpedo boat kit. With over 600 parts and a one-meter length, it was the world’s largest plastic model kit. Most Italeri kits feature photoengraved details. All come with extensive assembly instructions and historical documentation. Beginning in 2004, select Italeri kits have also included Photographic Reference Manuals which offer an in depth look at the full-scale subject — helping builders to achieve the very highest degree of accuracy.
